SONG: BORN TO BE SOMEBODY - Justin Bieber

Hello everybody!
We have listened to a song by Justin Bieber (yes, I know some boys don't like him so much, but next time, it will be their choice :-)
It is a fun and motivating way to listen to English music and start understanding the lyrics.
Here it is the link to youtube if you would like to listen to the song again with lyrics:

Bye bye!
Lourdes

BORN TO BE SOMEBODY

There's a dream in my soul
A fire that's deep inside me
There's a me no-one knows

Waiting to be set free

I'm gonna (=going to) see that day
I can feel it, I can taste it
Change is coming my way

CHORUS:
I was born to be somebody
Ain't (=there is) nothing that's ever gonna (=going to) stop me
I'll light up the sky like lightning
I'm gonna (going to) rise above
Show them what I'm made of
I was born to be somebody
I was born to be.
And this world will belong to me

This life can kick you around (woah)
This world can make you feel small (wooh)
They will not keep me down (woah)
I was born to stand tall

I'm going all the way
I can feel it, I believe it
I'm here, I'm here to stay

CHORUS

Feel it
Believe it
Dream it
Be it

CHORUS

CATWALK - Bugs World. Unit 1: Vocabulary: Clothes.

The group-classes of 6A and 6B will organise a catwalk next Tuesday 8th November 2011.

There will be 5 teams of 4 or 5 people each, and everybody in the team will play a different role:
  • Clothes designer, who will choose the clothes that the model is going to wear.
  • Graphic designer, who will prepare a drawing in power-point / or on paper of the model's outfit.
  • Presenter 1 / Presenter 2, who will present the outfit of the model to the rest of the group.
Example: ".... is wearing a black skirt with green tights. It is very nice and comfortable for cold weather!, etc"
  • Model, who will put on the clothes for the catwalk.

This is a fun way to review vocabulary about clothes and practise English in a real communicative context.
Pictures will be posted here soon :-)

Here they are!

PROJECT BRITAIN - September 2011. Interview to Carol Ball and Jeff Moore

On 22nd September 2011, we were journalists for one day!!

It was a special day, because we had two special visitors from the UK:

CAROL BALL and JEFF MOORE.

It was a fantastic opportunity for all of us to practice English!!

The group-clases of 5ºA, 6ºA and 6ºB prepared the interview some days in advance, working on the following topics in small teams:

TEAM 1 - The UK.

TEAM 2 - The Government and the Royal Family

TEAM 3 - Food and Drink in the UK.

TEAM 4 - Traditions and celebrations: Easter, Christmas, Halloween, etc.

All students had to search information on internet and bring material to our class in order to work together on the topic and choose 4 questions from each team for the interview.

We will post pictures from the 3 sessions held on that day (see tabs).

THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
